I'm back......it has been approx. 3 years since I wrote in my blog.
There is so much that has happened to Gary and I. Where I do begin......
August 9, 2013 Gary and I finally got married. We've been together for 4 years and we both decided to make each other legal.
It was a small and wedding. We had Gary's 2 daughters, Claresa and Kaitlin who were our witnesses, Alora (Claresa's baby, and her husband Darren), and his mother Mary Agnes.
Gary and I decided to have a second wedding with a reception in September.....this would be the big one for all the families.
The planning started off as fun and I knew in my mind how I wanted to do this. Gary and I were going to get the Hawaiian Cultural Center because of the ambience. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a big mistake because it was not what we expected.....that should have been condemned because it was filthy, dusty, and spiders. I'm not going into details.....all I'll say is, that would have been a disaster.
Gary came through with plan B.....we were able to rent the hall at Lone Peak Park. That was perfect because it had everything we needed and we were able to use the whole hall on the day of our wedding/reception.
Let the planning begin - Our date for this special occasion.......September 27, 2013
We started a budget of $2,000. I am happy to say we stayed within our budget.
I did all the decorations, flowers, and table toppers.
Instead of cake....we decided on cupcakes. The only cake we had was the topper....that was Carrot Cake topper.
We decided to do Mo Betta's......they didn't cater so Gary went and picked up the food.
My daughter Devera and her children and granddaughter drove in from San Diego, my other daughter Toti came with her husband Louie from Boston.
Gary's co-workers and friends from work came to our festivities....Gary's parents friends came to join the celebration......Gary's sisters and their family shared this festivities.
Karen's husband Ramone was our officiator......Alora was my flower girl.......Devera and Toti walked me down the aisle......Zachary was Gary's best man.......Claresa and Kaitlin were my bridesmaids.
Gary and I exchanged vows to each other....Ramone introduced us as Mr. and Mrs.
For my husband, I danced a special dance to him.
Our photographer took pictures of our wedding and reception.
This night was a memorable night for Gary and I. We had good friends, wonderful families, my granddaughter Chloe and my daughter Devera shared a Hawaiian dance to our guests. I also entertained with one more Hawaiian dance that I shared with our guests.
The food was a big hit and we had plenty of help in serving and cleaning up after our party was over.
Even though our anniversary is legally in August.....we will also celebrate our re-newed vows in September.
Thank you for all those who celebrated this event with us and made it memorable for Gary and I. Thank you to my daughters, my son in law, and grandchildren who traveled far to be here with their mother/grandmother.
Thank you to Gary's daughters who made this possible to share both events with their father.
